・While studying the swordsmithing techniques of the old swordsmithing period, Suishinshi Masahide gradually began to feel that Japanese swords, which were more elegant and less warped, were insufficient for his needs.
・As a sword scholar, he proposed the “sword restoration theory(刀剣復古論)”, which advocated a return to the old sword.
・Many sword smiths agreed with him, and Japanese swords became the mainstream of swordsmithing under the influence of his theory.
・Furthermore, Suishinshi Masahide is also famous as a skilled educator who trained many apprentices.
