We have extensive experience shipping authentic Japanese swords internationally and have successfully delivered to collectors across Europe, North America, and Asia. Below you will find everything you need to know before making an inquiry.

How We Ship

Shipping authentic Japanese swords from Japan requires working with specialized carriers. Major international couriers such as FedEx and DHL no longer handle katana shipments, so we use Japan Post — Japan’s largest and most trusted postal service — which continues to offer reliable international delivery for Japanese swords.

Depending on your country, your sword will be shipped either by air or by sea freight.

Countries Available for Air Shipping

We have successfully shipped Japanese swords by air to the following countries:

• Germany
• France
• Finland
• Mexico
• Taiwan

Good news for European collectors: we ship directly to both Germany and France by air. If you are based elsewhere in Europe, having the sword delivered to any address in Germany or France — such as a family member or friend — is a reliable option for faster delivery.

A Note on Italy

Italy has strict regulations regarding the import of art swords, and shipping there is often very difficult. Please contact us before making an inquiry if you are based in Italy.

Export Approval and Estimated Delivery Time

Every sword we sell is officially exported under a permit issued by Japan’s Agency for Cultural Affairs (文化庁, Bunka-chō), ensuring full legal compliance with Japanese regulations.

This approval typically takes approximately 25 business days after payment confirmation. We will keep you informed throughout the process.

Estimated total delivery time from payment:

• Air shipping: approximately 1–2 months
• Sea freight: approximately 3–4 months
